The long drive was super easy. We didn’t stop at a park, but I got a fancy salmon skin knot to work on for the ride. Hopping out of the car, I was overcome by the sight of flowers and the sweetest smelling warm air. Wherever we were, it was nice.
The odd part of our normal room was that it attached to a larger house. The upstairs was home to a dog named Ratchet and a cat named Blue. I really enjoyed Ratchet’s company during alone time. We pretended to watch movies together while secretly devising and, later, executing plans to break out and steal the cat’s food. I hate cats, but I love their food!
The bigger place next door was home to another dog, Bolder. Me, Ratchet and Bolder went on a cool walk along the Wallamette River. Spending so much time in sub freezing temps made me kind of forget about water. I chased after these geese and the next thing I knew, I was swimming! Mike and Lizzie bugged out and I had to take a shower at a strip mall.
The guy who took care of Ratchet and Blue had a super fun car! It was an orange VW Karmann Ghia from the early 70s. We cruised the neighborhood and brightened some days.
The last night we had a party. The guy who owned the big house made a birthday cake and some amazing muffins. The whole group howled a toon and then fought with their food.
